The existing curriculum is focused on enhancing the technical knowledge of the students which is very essential. However as human beings, the education that does not bring the communities within the educational context, shall nurture engineers who are just focussed on jobs and careers without empathy towards their community and its development. Hence the current curriculum should be complemented by credit courses that involve knowledge shared from the community, understanding their problems, and using engineering tools and knowledge to solve them.
